Montenegro in 2026
Travel Trends · Best Places to Visit · Events · Day Trips
Montenegro in 2026 is trending. Visitor numbers are up, the EXIT festival has arrived on Long Beach in Ulcinj, Sea Dance returns to Budva free of charge, and the Kotor Cable Car complex is now one of the most talked-about new attractions in the Adriatic. This guide covers where to go, what to do, what it costs, and what events to plan around, all in one place.
Montenegro in 2026: Why Now?
Montenegro has been on the edge of breaking through for years. In 2026 it has. The Kotor Cable Car opened in 2023 and has since become a must-do attraction. EXIT Festival has relocated from Serbia to Montenegro’s Adriatic coast for its World Tour. Sea Dance Festival returns to Budva with free admission. International searches for “Montenegro travel trend 2026” and “best places to visit in Montenegro 2026” have climbed sharply across Google.
The country is small. You can drive coast to mountains in under two hours, which makes it unusually easy to combine coastline, history, national parks, and culture in a single short trip. That combination, rare at this price point in Europe, is exactly what is driving the travel trend.
Montenegro uses the Euro (€) without being in the EU. English is widely spoken in tourist areas. Most EU, UK, and US citizens enter without a visa.
